PlaceShifter error when connecting from outside
If I connect with PlaceShifter on my home LAN (i.e. no ID / PW), all works fine.
But If I connect using the locator ID, it finds the server. But at the login prompt, I get the box: "No PlaceShifter users are available. A new user must be created on the server, or an existing user must be enabled, before login is possible". With an "exit" button. This used to work for a few months. This week-end, I was out-of town and I got this message. Any hints? Thanks |

Since you said it used to work, but now does not, perhaps the sage.properties file on the server got corrupted & a new properties file was created w/no users. Or, it just got disabled somehow. Anyway...
When you use SageTV at home, does it list any users in Detailed Setup -> Server -> Manage Placeshifter Users? - Andy

that was it. Server was enabled, but no users were defined anymore. Wonder why. Recreated it and all is now fine.
I still don't get why I could connect through local LAN though... Thanks again |
