video stall issue
setup: Hauppauge myTV.PVR, Apple dual-processor G4 867mhz 1 gig RAM
While watching TV, about every 30 seconds or so the video stalls for a few frames. The audio is unaffected. My understanding is that the myTV.PVR box is doing the compression work, although SageTV seems to have some compression settings that aren't listed with the myTV.PVR. Also, when running Sage the CPU generates a lot more heat than normal. Is there a optimal compression setting that makes the best use of the myTV.PVR's hardware compression, or am I barking up the wrong tree? |
