Does Sage-sold HVR-1600 Support QAM??! (Aka, correct version?)

So after reading all the posts about "Only Model 74021 and 74041 have QAM support!" and a lot of people saying they have an older model - I want to know, before I buy another Sage bundle, what is Sage shipping us?!?!

Last week I emailed sage with this same question ie. what specific model and does it support QAM. Here is their reply:

"I'm not sure what you mean. It comes with a HVR-1600, I didn't know there
were different models of it.

To use QAM with that card, you will need to use the current beta."
