Can't get USB-UIRT to change channels

I currently have SageTV 6.1 installed on my server (running Windows Server 2003 standard) I have an USB-UIRT plugged into the server, with the1.4 drivers installed. I also have a client machine (running Windows XP SP2) that has Sage TV Client 6.1 installed. It has a MCE Blaster plugged into it. I’m using a Harmony 550 remote (configured as a MCE remote to control the Sage client). I have three Dish Network STBs one 311 and two 322s (I’m only trying to use tuner one which is controlled by IR). They are connected to an Nvidia Dual TV and an ATI 550 via S-video. I have configured each STB to a different remote address. The 311 is configured to remote address one and its corresponding Dish remote. The 322 STBs are configured to remote address two and three as well as their corresponding remotes. From the server I have been able to successfully to set up a tuning device for each of my capture cards. One was labeled 311, one 322A and one 322B. I was able to teach ir codes 0-9 for each using the corresponding Dish remotes. I have a single emitter plugged into the USB-UIRT and stuck to outside of the 311 STB. (The other STBs are off) Using the Harmony remote I have taught the USB-UIRT the “channel up” code. When I press channel up with the Harmony remote Sage shows the channel being changed (on the client) but the STB is not actually tuning to a different channel. (Although I do see the USB-UIRT and the emitter flash) I have tried teaching ir codes rebooting the server and they still aren’t working. The Harmony remote is properly controlling Sage menus etc., just not the STB. I have also tried moving the emitter to each of the 322 STBs and its still not working. (eventually I'll get emitters for each STB, but for now I just want to see if I can get one to work.) Any help is greatly appreciated!

Not sure if I have your answer. Its been a while since i had to set it up, but in short, you need to program each number, etc twice. The harmony(even the regular remote) send alternating signals. basically one or the other randomly. Are you saying that you click the same number multiple times and never get a digit change on the STB? if thats the case, it must be something else. I have been lucky enough to not have to use an emitter, so my experience in this is minimal.

Thanx to everyone who posted. After I reinstalled Sage and figuring out I was teaching the USB-UIRT the MCE remote codes not the STB remote code I got it working...for the most part. I still have one minor issue. When the 322 STBs sit for more than four hours they go into "screen saver" (which I can't turn off). You have to press select on the Dish remote to "wake" it up. So if a 322 is in this mode and a recording event starts it just captures the screen saver. I do have have "always tune" turned on in detailed setup. And the channel confirm command set to the "select" command from the corresponding Dish remote. But what is happening is, the recording starts, the number commands are sent (the STB dosen't respond cause its in screen saver mode) then the the confirm command gets sent (select) and the STB wakes up. But it records what ever channel it was last tuned to. Is there a way to send the confirm command (select) first or to send the number commands again? THANX!

The latest beta has an IR prefix option... it was not working for me. Warning about using "select" as a prefix... you may actually select to either pay per view or subscribe to something unattended.

The better option is to disable the sleep

And you are correct if the receiver auto updates in the early morning you get the screen saver and have to rehit power to turn the receiver back on no way around it unless you do the steps below.

Menu 6-1-6 disable updates (but your receiver will only update if you turn it off for the night)

Menu 8-7 and disable standby

That sould do the trick for you"
