SageTV6.2.6 & HDHR 20070815 (working OK?)

Hi,
Anyone running the latest from SageTv and HDHR and having none of the old issues of delay in channel changing, fast fwd etc?

My set up is not too bad at present and don't want to move to BDA setup until things are streaming fine..

I know, I could install and test. Still sorting out sunrocket phone mess and waiting for number to port, so I am keeping a low profile at home on messing with anything that is working computer wise.

I just switched from the old HDHR sage driver from June or July to the latest 20070815 driver at silicondust download section. I don't have any recordings from it so I can't comment on the timeline issue, but the channel changing seems pretty fast. It's just slightly over 2 seconds to change channels. I never timed it before but it feels faster than it used to.

I already had sage6.2.6 rc installed, and just updated the hdhr driver without restarting sage. All my previous channels settings stayed the same so I didn't have to do anything.

I upgraded to all the latest Silicondust stuff this weekend and the Sage RC. I don't see any problems with timelines like before. But I DO see a problem where playback of a SD HDHR recording generates a black screen with no sound and just won't play. I've had to revert to 6.1.9 which seems to handle HDHR SD playback to MVP fine. I'm NOT using BDA, because I can't seem to find really good instructions to install that. The manager seems to work fine.

I'm still running the manager too, I didn't know that BDA driver had to be setup in Sage separately.

I've been using the BDA drivers for a while now and have been a bit frustrated by continuing recording stream issues (small audio glitches and a stutter now and again) - since going to the BDA drivers I had none of the issues with the timeline (i.e. jumping with the remote was accurate).

I upgraded this afternoon to the latest firmware and drivers for the HDHR unit and installed 6.2.6 - right off hand it looks much better than before. The chanel changing is faster and live viewing on the HDHR feeds is now practical. The recordings I've watched so far have been flawless as far as recording quality goes - I'll reserve judgement on that until I've spent a few days using it exclusively, particularly for our local HD news broadcasts which tended to show issues more than other programming for whatever reason.

For me everything has been working great. The only issue I had is that last week I finally setup one of my HDHR tuners for Clear QAM. The other is still on an antenna due to a fee dispute between one of the local affiliates and Cox Cable (KOCO sucks).

The issue I ran into is that the way I had it setup was using the hdhomerun_bda.remap file which has been depreciated in the latest BDA driver. So I had to use the HDHR channel editor and redo all my Clear QAM channels. It was actually easier to do this way rather than creating the hdhomerun_bda.remap file. It's all good now that I have the channels in SageTV remapped to the new fake HDHR channels.

Where did you find directions for using the HDHR channel editor? I installed the 2007815 HDHR drivers and just shut down the manager app (and manually removed it from the startup folder). I assumed it was still using the remap file I had previously created. Anyway everything seems to be working ok with sage 6.2.6.

I kind of followed their MCE instructions which are here:

http://www.silicondust.com/wiki/hdho...ions/mce_cable

Basically you go into the HDHomeRun Setup and then click the Lineup tab and go from there. Once I was done I re-mapped my existing channels to the new fake channels and everything worked ok.

Hi,
I am still using SageTv 6.1.9.143 with HDHR manager and latest HDHR update. I have no real need to upgrade other than I do have some time-line issues now and then, olong with a few minor other issues. The best thing at the moment is I have no delay in changing channels, its around one second.

It seems a few of you are happy with The new SageTv 6.2.6 RC and HDHR BDA drivers and have solved the time-line issues.

So maybe Friday night I will try an upgrade. Would like to update and get to the same stable spot I am at now before the new seasons programs start.

Just as a follow up - performance using BDA is much, much better on my rig than it was before - my local news broadcast had a small handful of very small audio stutters but they were far less noticible than they were before. Other programming (baseball, regular prime time shows) also came out fine so far. It's still not quite perfect on my setup but my configuration may have issues of its own for whatever reason. I've checked and rechecked signal strength and such via HDHR and it's been consistently high.

The next thing I'll try is a direct cable connect to my second 10/100/1000 NIC in my Sage rig instead of going through my router with it just to rule out anything there. But again, the stutters are tiny and few and far between now (before it was difficult to watch the news at all).
