6.2.6, DVB-S, Problems with channel scanning
In 6.2.6, after a complete channel scan, the channels that Sagetv found (around 300) are not getting added to the menu.
The menu contains the options like "Enable all channels", "Add channel to lineup" and so on, but no channels come up in the menu. When I say "Done with channel setup", LiveTV and EPG contain no channels either. It works fine in 6.2.5 ... Bug or feature ? |

DVB-S Scanning is still a bit iffy but I think you should file a bug report.

I have the same problem with DVB-T (Windows version). Works on 6.1.9.

Same here.
I reinstalled 6.1.9, set up the dvb-t again and got it working, upgraded, and then got no signal on all channels. I can't get to play again until the weekend. |

Version 6.2 has a new .frq file format. This is why if you upgrade over 6.1.9, DVB-T won't work. You should install 6.2.6, remove the card then add it and do a rescan. That should create the correct file.

I had no luck at all setting up channels with 6.2.6 .
However, installing 6.2.5 (which is still available here: http://www.sagetv.com/postDL.php?tmp...6_2_5Setup.exe ), then setting up channels and then installing 6.2.6 worked for me. I wouldn't recommend it for DVB-S though, TV viewing is just too buggy at the moment. I am currently using the MyTheatre Network encoder with the lastest stable version as an OK workaround (works with MediaMVP). Hope that 6.2 final will be stable with DVB-S and also include proper channel editing capabilities (like for example Mytheatre). Markus. |

DVB-S is working well for me now, Qian also just cracked getting BBCHD to work! Might be worth looking at the DVB Dream network encoder that appeared recently. I'm intending to give it a try over the weekend to see if it will cope with DVB-S2, until support is added to Sage.
http://dvbn.happysat.org/viewtopic.php?t=41365 Had all sorts of problems with DVBT and DVBS cards when I rebuilt the HTPC a couple of weeks ago, been tearing my hair out. Turned out to be caused by IRQ sharing! TT-3200 card sharing with Cinergy 2400i prevent Cinergy from working. Moving the TT card to the only other possible slot then caused a share with the graphics card which resulted in bluescreens on bootup. Appears to be stable now following a bios update, fingers crossed. |

I had similar problems when I first installed my Cinergy 2400i into my PVR. There was a yellow warning triangle next to the entry for the Cinergy in device manager. Needed a BIOS update from Shuttle to cure it.
Hats off to Shuttle support BTW - they were excellent I'm just in the process of installing 6.2.6 - I need to rescan to pick up C4+1 so I'll post my experiences after

The annoying thing in my case was that it wasn't showing as a conflict. Investigating further showed that the IRQ was being shared and no matter where I moved the various cards an IRQ was still shared. Can't manually specify them in XP, no way to manually allocate in the bios (feature I'll be looking for in the future), less hair on my head now!

Rescanned with DVB-S no problem all channels were picked up and I found channel4 +1.
My DVB-T scanning still doesn't work tho - I had to use scanchannelsbda because sage only found 10 channels

I haven't heard of scanchannelsbda. The homepage of the program isn't too helpful ...
Is it possible to scan for channels with this program and import them into Sagetv? If so, how does it work ? |

You can use scanchannelsbda to find the frequencies of the DVB-T channels and you can manually import that information into the .frq file in sage
Unfortunately it doesn't show all the data that sage needs in the .frq file. As you can see below it outputs sid and you already know the frequency (578000 in the example) but tsid is not output. it's main use for me is to check the data that sage creates when scanning if there is a problem tuning. e.g. entry in .frq CH:101 onid:9018 tsid:4105 sid:4169 frq:578500000 band:8 ctrl:1 #:BBC-ONE Quote:
