Hauppauge 1600 - Can't get it to control STB

I just picked up the Hauppauge 1600 dual tuner card. I also just got Time Warner cable installed, and they gave me the new Motorola DCH3416 (DCH 3416) box.

I can't for the life of me get the Hauppauge IR emitter to change the channels on the box. When I try to run through the IR configure tool, there don't seem to be any codes that work for it. I could be doing something wrong, but I can see the IR emitter lighting up, and it's placed right on the STB's receiver, so I'm not sure what else to try.

The box appears new enough that I'm having trouble finding any info on it on the web. Anybody have any success with this box, either using IR or using firewire to change channels?

I'd rather not pick up a separate IR transmitter if I don't have to, since Sage supposedly works fine with the Hauppauge one and I've got that one already.

EDIT: I finally got it to find remote codes that would work, after letting it search all codes for about 15 minutes. I'd still love to try to setup channel changing over firewire if anyone feels like helping out with that though. I've tried following the various guides I've found online, but can't seem to get it working...

it does not look like that box is supported.

there is a serial port tuning plugin for the DCT not sure it will work for this box but it's worth a try if you have a serial port on the STB
