Dual Tuners - One Digital, One Analog

I’m sure I saw my question asked and discussed before, but searching has failed me.

I have two Hauppauge tuners (150 & 250). I will connect the 150 to a digital STB which gets many more channels then the 250 which will connect to basic analog coax. How do I configure things (or can I) to ensure 150 gets used when I want to watch or record those shows only it can see?

This should be handled automatically -- you will configure then with different channel lineups. For your provider, there is usually a digital lineup and a basic or extended lineup. SageTV will know which channels it can record on each tuner based on the channels enabled in each lineup.

I'm set up similarly now. I have three tuners, one connected to a digital cable box, and the other two to regular cable. The channel lineups overlap up to 70 or so, and then only the digital tuner sees the upper channels. Is this how yours is also?

I used the encoder_merit property in the sage.properties file to set the card attached to the digital box at the LOWEST priority. That unsures that it will only be used if I'm accessing a channel that is unavailable to the other cards, so I avoid the situation where I'm using the card on the digital box for somehting that could be handled by another card and thus making it unavailable for the channels that are unique to it.

Does that make sense? Is that what you're trying to accomplish?
