should work just fine if you are doing SD analog. If you are recording digital HD, your CPU may not be fast enough to transcode HD on-the-fly to SD for the MVPs to work. The same goes for any xvid/divx/mp4 imported files you may want to watch on the MVP.
If/when the HD extender (basically an HD MVP) comes out, it will hopefully be less dependent on your server's CPU power.
