SageTV Client/Placeshifter + Remote
I'm about to buy a sagetv software pack but I just want to verify that I get the correct bundle.
I would like to have one server standing at home connected with one or two analog tv-cards. then I would like to have a client connected to my tv that I can easily manage via a remote. Now comes the tricky bit. I also have a summer place abroad that I would like to connect my SageTV Client to, is that possible or should I use SageTV Placeshifter? It's important that my PC abroad has the same features as my local client and is fully manageable via the remote. Is this possible?

You would need to use Placeshifter at a remote location.
For a remote, a client would need some sort of IR receiver. One option would be a USB-UIRT + almost any remote, which should also work with the Placeshifter. - Andy

Hmm that sounds intresting, what would be easiest for the end user on the remote location? AppleTV + USB-UIRT or Linuxbox + USB-IRT? I just want the box to be quiet and that they can switch channels, change volume. Bonus would be radio and Text-TV
I guess we can move this thread to the Placeholder forum.
