VMR9 and Vista's new EVR
If in the video configuration screen I leave the "video renderer" set to "default" and I have Vista installed, will the OS then use Vista's new EVR technology? Or will it either use some version of VMR 9 or Overlay by default?
How would I even check that? Thanks. AWS

I think "default" is VMR7 under Windows XP. I suspect its still VMR7 under Vista, although I'm not sure.
I'm very curious about EVR in general, though. I have Sage running on a dual monitor box, which means I have to use overlay. I'd like to have the option of running Sage on a dual monitor Vista box in the future (with Aero), but that doesn't seem possible with VMR9. Will it be with EVR? |

Download graphedit (find it in the page) and render a media file. It sets up a default filter path, and yes, it appears to use VMR7 by default.
You may be able to change the filter preferences to use EVR by default...

Is there a way to add/change the renderer used in SageTV?
