Passing Information to Sage... Is this Possible?

Is it possible to pass file name information to SageApp or SageClient?

What I mean by this is.....

I am trying to figure a way to pass Sage the name of a picture file called "picturename.jpg" and then have Sage display this picture just as if I navigated the Sage menu, highlighted the picture, and selected it.

I already fully use all the Windows Messaging commands to navigate the Sage menu's, but I am unable to figure out how to highlight the passed filename.

OK, why would I want to do this? I use Xlobby on my touchscreen tablets (Fujitsu 3500's - not capable of running Sage) to display my jpeg library. This same networked library is available to Sage. When I display the picture in Xlobby, I can pass the picture name to PowerHome (via Socket server), and it then constructs the WindowMessage to have Sage go to the right menu area (and hopefully display the "picture.jpg" on my plasma that is running SageTV). Simariliarly, if I could do it with jpg's, music and video files should also work.

Ideas??? Or is this just not possible?

It cannot be done with windows messages. You would have to need something that runs inside the sage process to receive instructions and tell the sage process what to do. My webserver is an example of this. Beelzelrob's Cqc plugin is another

Once you have this, starting video/audio is relativly easy (see my webserver and it's play in SageTV button/URL)

Remotely initiating display of pictures is actually quite difficult (and yes I have looked into it), and would need STV customisations...

Thanks for this reply nielm.

Your depth of knowledge keeps me from waisting time looking for something that is not there.

However, IF someone was to develop an easy way to pass file information to Sage, I would sure be interested.
