Q: SageClient mode w/ Sage Service not saving into SageClient.properties
Hi. It's been a while since I posted here. But after getting more than aggrevated by the DRM in Vista MCE (and not having comskip or control over multiple tuners like Sage does), I upgraded to version 6. Very nice.
I know I've been out of the loop for a while, but when I started SageTV in Service mode and then ran SageTV (which would be in Client mode), I noticed that it was saving the window positions to Sage.Properties instead of to SageClient.properties Once I realized this, I copied these settings into the SageClient.properties file: ui/last_win_fs=true ui/last_win_height=480 ui/last_win_posx=1324 ui/last_win_posy=53 ui/last_win_width=640 Now, it displays on my secondary monitor in full screen when before it wouldn't. Just wondering if this is fixed in the new betas or newer versions. I'm running 6.1.9.135 Lauren |

If it's not saving to SageClient.properties, then it's running in normal mode, not service mode. Have you gone to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services to verify that the SageTV service is actually running?
If you've just upgraded, it's possible that the installer has disabled the service and you need to re-enable it using the SageTVServiceControl app in the SageTV folder in your Start menu. (Do not confuse service mode with the "SageTV Server" option on the Detailed Setup screen, which is something else entirely.)

If the service really is already running:
There was an issue where the SageTV UI had to be run in admin mode (right click & run it as the administrator) or else it couldn't talk to the service. This was taken care of in beta version 6.1.4, but you should probably check it out if the service is definitely running; maybe something turned off its ability to see it on your system. - Andy
