Sage as a client while in Service mode
My Sage server is using service mode. When watching previously recorded shows, I'm seeing some instability in the client (run on the server).. Other clients seem rock solid.. But, when running the client on the server, it seems to hang, etc. Is this a known issue?
Thanks |

l have lots of problems running the client on the server. The cpu is pegged at100%. I have traced this to the usbuirt device.
lf I remove it everything is ok. takes a mixture of re-installing it or removing the video source in sage and then adding it back |

Oddly enough, my problem appears to have stemmed from poor quality encoded files coupled with an older video driver.. I moved my Sage server yesterday and it began locking up regularly for my wife today, when she watched her soaps...
When I got home to check it out, I found that the video quality was very poor. I found one spot on one of her shows that locked Sage up every time I viewed it... I tried running Sage NOT in service mode, and changing audio decoders, but neither made much of a difference. I did notice that when I changed the audio driver Sage used that I heard audio for a few seconds beyond the video lock, so that led me to nvidia's site... I upgraded video drivers to the latest Nvidia package, and now it passes that spot with no problem... I also found a loose connection on a splitter and now the video isn't snowy anymore... Thanks, Paul |
