USB-UIRT Problems

I'm using a custom .IR file that I got from THIS THREAD for my Dish DP301 satellite receiver. It's working fine except for any channel that contains a ZERO. It simply doesn't sent the zero. I'm not sure where to go from here.

Here is the ZERO entry from the .IR file I'm using -

0 0000 0047 0024 0000 0017 0167 0018 00a4 0017 0061 0017 00a6 0017 00a5 0017 00a5 0018 0061 0018 00a4 0017 00a5 0017 00a5 0017 00a5 0017 00a5 0017 00a6 0017 00a5 0018 00a4 0017 00a5 0017 00a5 0017 0166 0017 00a5 0017 0061 0017 00a4 0018 00a4 0017 00a5 0017 0061 0017 00a5 0017 00a4 0017 00a5 0017 00a5 0017 00a5 0018 00a4 0017 00a6 0017 00a5 0017 00a4 0017 00a5 0017 0166 0017 0167

Thanks,

Did you try using the IR Helper program? This is a stand alone EXE that will display the IR codes of remote controls. I found the free lrnhelper.exe utility to be very helpful.

Thanks Dave,

I tried the helper App and it doesn't work with the Dish Remote (no response for a zero press, some others respond). It seems to respond to the Hauppauge Remote OK. I'm not sure I'd know what to do with the codes it returns anyways.

When I had Dish Network, I had to put the remote control only about 2 inches away from the USB-UIRT for it to detect all the codes. I remember that I tried both JVC 301 remotes and both remotes were weak. Does zero button on the remote work OK with the Dish Network receiver?

It works fine with the Dish Receiver. I did it right against the URIT up to 6" away without any response.

I played with the Select Video Sources feature in Setup (where you can select the IR blaster device). The test function only showed the digits 1-9, no Zero! I simply cut and pasted the entry for zero (which was at the bottum of the .IR file - last entry) to before the one (first entry) and it works fine now!

Thanks,
PCH
