Hello, all.
I'm new to this forum and to SageTV. I'm looking to replace my MCE 2005 system with SageTV, but would like to continue to use my remote/IR blaster. I've read this post in the forum: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22718 ...and the forum download: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=168 ...and found that the links on that page to the SageTV community development site don't work! For example: http://www.sage-community.org/index....Plugin#preview ...states that the "database is locked." Is there an alternate location to download the pre-requisite (GetStatus and WebServer) executables? Also, where does one download Blaster.zip? Also, wouldn't it be great if SageTV supported this MS Remote/Blaster hardware natively? I would like to be able to select this from the installation menu without special configuration. I expect that there might be others trying to replace their MCE 2005 with SageTV, and not want to buy new hardware. 'Just a thought! Regards, Joe |

Sage does work w/ the remote natively. The blaster is a different story. But w/ EXETuner it's all good.

EXETuner?
Quote:
Are you implying that all I need to do is to install and configure EXETuner to get the MCE USB IR Blaster to work? If so, is there an article specifically on setting this up? I still feel it would be nice to be able to simply select MCE IR Blaster on the menu to select the different IR blasters. Is this something that could be a selectable option in the SageTV installer? It would be great for all of us who are switching from MS MCE/Vista to SageTV. |

![]() I'm looking for a fairly simple solution to make this work, not a computer programming degree. Isn't there something a bit easier? If not, give me a couple of weeks, and I'll see if I can get it to work (or maybe I should just ask for my 100 bucks back for Sage?). Sorry for the sarcasm... |

it looks complicated - but honestly it's not...Once you learn the first step - it's just a bunch of repeating

No HIP Solution?
Quote:
http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22718 ...eliminated the need for using HIP in this scenario, and allowed you to use the "green button" remote to control SageTV. Ultimately, this would be a great option for me, and a pretty simple installation. However, I am not able to get the prerequisite downloads due to the database locking issue I mentioned. Comments? Thoughts? |

Does MCE remote work natively with sage CLIENT software?
I know the MCE remote will work with SageTV full install. Does MCE remote work natively with sage CLIENT software?
