I'm calling SetRecordingTimes() to stop an in-progress recording from java. For some reason the call seemed to be ignored and the return value is some object that I can't make any use of.
It appears the call was ignored by the core because I was watching the show while it was recording and through fast forwarding, etc. I managed to catch up to near live (maybe 15-30 seconds behind). It appears that the core then ignored my plugin's call to SetRecordingTimes() to end the recording after the game was over (Stanley Cup Game 5) and it almost seemed to treat it as a live tv viewing since it continued to record beyond the EPG time even though my plugin continuously tried to stop the recording every 5 minutes. Once I stopped the playback the core immediately stopped recording. Is this as expected? If so, is it because I caught up to the end of the recording? Had I not been fast forwarding through commercials, intermissions, etc. and continued to watch it 2.5 hours behind live then would it still have kept recording beyond the end of the scheduled EPG time (i.e. treating it like a live tv recording)? I know I've asked this before, but I don't ever recall getting a concrete answer, but what is the return value of SetRecordingTimes() and how does one interpret it from java? |

If you are watching a recording while it is in progress, then it is considered to be live TV and recording will not stop until you stop playback. Live TV will also continue recording the show that is on next on that channel, or the next scheduled recording, depending on circumstances.
