Power USB Hub killed my UIRT

UIRT been working trouble free for many many months

Last week I added a no- name 7 port power usb hub to my system. plugged my UIRT into one of the ports and the UIRT LED went bright red. Never seeing that before I quickly unplugged and placed the UIRT back into my motherboard usb port and the UIRT led went back to normal. But it no longer works. Windows-XP sees it but not sage. The UIRT led does not even flicker when I use any of my remotes near it.

install and reinstall drivers...................No Good

Tried UIRT on other PC's..........................No Go

Funny that a $3K home media system is bought to its knees by a $47 Uirt.
Of all the htpc junk I have laying around the house "3 years worth" I only had one UIRT .

Ordered a new one and everything is everything again. Down time 5 days


Great product, Just don't plug it into a 3rd party powered hub.

Or maybe it was just one of them things.

7 port power usb hub is working great with everything else.

in my experiences, don't plug a thumb drive into a Belkin 7-port. killed my 2gig by overheating after a few uses. everything else attached to it is fine though; pvr-usb2, webcam, printer, card reader...
lost a buttload of personal data over that.
