what a difference a driver upgrade makes.
I was starting to get annoyed with my main Sage installation -- it was slow, giving me a lot of the spinning arrow when changing from menu to menu, especially when video was playing; starting/stopping video was very slow... I couldn't figure out what it was: I tried turning off animations, video background, extras, plugins, nothing helped...
I was getting to the point of doing a reformat/reinstall, when I decided to see if any drivers could be upgraded... Popped the new Nvidia drivers in, and the difference was like night and day! No more spinning arrow, even with video BG and fading animations! (I went from 91.something to 93.71 for my FX5200 card). Playback even seems crisper Whats even better is that FSE is far more reliable: I have yet to have a random hang when switching out of FSE! I cannot explain it -- maybe the old drivers were getting tired I am normally of the school of staying in a known good config, and not risking new drivers unless there is a reason to... It also goes to show how many things can influence the performance of a Sage system...

93.71 have been the best drivers for me too - don't know if the new ones are worth an upgrade

Hi,
Between here and AVS I have heard so many mixed reviews of the nvidia drivers (incl. 93.71) that you never know what will work and what wont. FWIW the 93.71 drivers have worked really nicely for me as well. All part of the fun of this hobby.... Jesse

i have 94.21 downloaded... where's a good place to get 93.71 if mine is too bleeding edge for stability?

How's that FX 5200 card hanging?
Everyone around here was saying it couldn't hang with HD playback. I made huge plans for a major system upgrade before the arrival of my HDHR. I've got an almost primitive system and the 5200 actually plays back the HD ok. Seems darker/redder than direct OTA on the same channel, but no pauses or stuttering. Of course the whole system comes to a crawl if it has to do anything else.... I'll check my drivers. Lot's of the spinning wheel of death as well.

Nvidia's web site still have it (select beta download page, then advance driver search)
