Alternatives to XMLTV for Sweden?

Hello!

The XMLTV grabber for Sweden and Norway has been cancelled due to
the site dagenstv.com no longer allowing the extraction of tv-listings.

I know that some people are using the grabber for Denmark instead since
the site used for that one contains some Swedish channels. Of course
those listing are far from complete and in the wrong language.

Does anyone know of a better solution? Is there another site for XMLTV
to use in the future?

Regards,
Andreas

A new grabber, tv_grab_se, is being developed. Get it at http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.tv.xmltv.devel/2511

Hi!

Sorry, but I don't understand how to get this new grabber to work
with my Win32 XMLTV installation. Could you please give me some hints?

Thanks!
Andreas

Andreas,
You need perl installed to run the script.

I don't think there will be a win32 executable compiled until it is completed why the danish grabber might be the best choice for you now.

Mvh Kenneth

PS. I'm using the danish grabber myself as there currently are som errors in the swedish grabber DS.

Hi!

I think I'll stay with the Danish one too until there
is an official release of XMLTV with the new grabber.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I thought I would let you know that I've created an alternative to XMLTV
It's an win32 application called o2grabber and currently grabs listings for Sweden and Norway

If you're interested you can find it at http://www.o2design.se/o2grabber

Let me know what you think!

There is also http://www.lysator.liu.se/~lindahl/p...s/televinken/. I managed to get this running with Cygwin Perl. It produces an XMLTV listing which looks OK. I don't know how to get this into SageTV though.

BTW what's the problem with dagenstv.com - is it a legal issues? The script above uses dagenstv among other sources.

They started blocking XMLTV, putting up a message saying that scanning the TV listings is not illegal. The XMLTV people decided that it would be best to remove the grabber, rather than risk legal action.

Oxy23, thanks for O2grabber! It generates an XMLfile smoothly and in Sage I can see the program guide is filled up.

But in SageTV I can still not see anything, I have tried to set up the channels in different ways bu no picture nor sound. Is there a guide around somewhere how I should set up SageTV with O2grabber in Sweden?
Any suggestions?

I use Hauppauge PVR-250 and its working with WinTV2000.

Thanks
