What does it take for Sage to play all music!!
What do I need to get Sagetv to play all my MP3's. I can play them all fine in media player but sage has no sound on some that are encoded at 256. This is driving me nuts.
Is there a secret that I don't know about??? I have the mp3 pro decoder installed. The mp3's play perfect IN VLC and media player.

I don't have an answer for you, but I may have a work-around. There is a Winamp plugin that might work for you. I have been running this way in SageMC for a long time. It is completely transparent to the user. This may at least let you play your music until you can get the sage issues straightened out.

In case SageTV is having a problem with the file, contact tech support. They may want to try a sample file to see what is happening.

This is what tests I did to see if the file was bad.
The files are Harry Chapin Gold Collect mp3 256.... Do not play in Sage... but play in all other players. 1. I use lame to re-encode the file. I went from 256 to 256 to fix errors (if Any) but did not change the Bitrate this file did not play in Sagetv Played fine in all others. 2. I used lame to re-encode this time I went from 256 to 192. These files played fine in Sage TV and all other players. Mike thanks for your help I will look into the plugin next time I shutdown Sage.. right now I cannot.

What audio codec are you using?
I know that if you are using the newer version of AC3Filter, there is a setting that you have to set to get sound from MP3 files. I just don't remember the setting. You can search the forum to get it.
