Sage selects wrong tuner--help!

So I have two connections--coax and s-video into a pvr250. I have the epg guide setup and all would seem ok. The coax is for local cable and the s-video is for satellite--as it so happens there are a number of duplicate channels but 0-73 is on coax and 100 and higher is s-video (this is all reflected in the guide as well).

The problem is that say i select channel 3 through the epg--sage automatically finds the corresponding channel through the satellite and goes there instead. In other words if a channel exists on both the coax and s-video it defaults to the s-video connection.

How do I get it to stop making this decision?

Do you have 2 separate channel lineups, so the sources only have the appropriate channels enabled? i.e.: is it trying to tune channel 3 via svideo & can't receive it there, or is there a higher channel number that it is using to get the same station? If they share the same lineup, they will share the same set of enabled channels.

If you just want to change the priority of which tuner gets used first, try setting the mmc/encoders/<some number>/encoder_merit property.

You have two soruces plugged into the PVR-250? It's a single tuner card.

Oh -- if the 2 sources are working on a single tuner card (only 1 will record at a time), then you are obviously using 2 different lineups or else only one source would be accepted. In that case, check out the merit property I mentioned above. And, when a single tuner is being used for 2 inputs, you should really disable any shared channels or else one of the sources could get removed when you configure the next source for that same tuner -- are both sources really still configured?

Ok--looks like disabling channels is the easiest fix to the problem without getting into setting changes (I invariably manage to mess something else up). Thanks for the help!
