sagetv and fedora core 6

Has anyone setup and configured sagetv on fedora core 6?

I'm fairly new to linux and need some help locating the required pre-install software (java-package, madplay, lame, faad etc..) and particulary with the installation of the ivtv for PAL BG. To get the channel frequencie correct (Windows version) I downloaded a registry edit, how can this be configured on the linux version.

Thanks

I'm running Fedora 6, using 'yum' installed most packages from ATrpms repository. I downloaded and install java 'jre' from SUN.

follow Sagetv instuctions on installing Sagetv on alternate linux versions.
You maybe need to add a boot up script in /etc/init.d, so you don't have to manually start sage everytime.

thanks for the info - will try ATrpms. Had a few problems trying to find mad and faad using the links in the installation guide. Any info on setting up my pvr 500 would be appreciated.

Thanks

One thing to avoid is using the Java clones. Make sure that you get the Run-Time Environment from Sun. (This was the only major difficulty I had in getting SageTV to run under Linux.)

You'll need to add /usr/java/jre1.5.0_11/bin/ to your path before /usr/bin. FC6 installs gnu java in /usr/bin, and the sage startup script just uses whichever java it finds first.

btw, I have a similar setup, and get no sound on playback. I got mad and faac from livna, they seem to work as well -- atleast when I use the mplayer exe outside of sage
