MVP 16:9 UI Fonts Stretched

Title says it all really. I've put a new MVP on the lounge TV which is 16:9. I've set the AR in Setup to 16:9 and the circle looks right. The SageTV logo top left looks right, but all the text in the UI is stretched horizontally. If I turn the TV 4:3 the text looks right but the logo is squashed. The stretched text makes it harder to read. Tried restarting the MVP, loading the basic STV without any addins, still the same.

My 16:9 client looks fine. Any ideas?

**BUMP**

Okay, let me try another tack...
If you're using the MVP on a 16:9 screen, do your fonts in the UI look stretched or normal? Give me some feedback as to whether my setup is wrong or fonts always look stretched on a 16:9 screen with MVP...

Thanks!

I'm running MVP on a 16:9 TV set, and all looks ok.

I did also select the 'round' circle, but did also used the option to move the left up and right down corner (in same option list, forgot at the moment how it's called) - and I did have to more it a lot to fit nicely in the 16x9 format.

The ratio setting is on SOURCE (not 16x9).

FYI, I has also put my TV set on automatic, meaning it will always try to fill a 16x9 picuture (e.g., when it receives a 4x3 picture, it will cut it a bit to fit 16x9 - not always nice but normally ok).

FYI-2, some videos do not send the correct ratio with it, so I use the ratio plug-in to store for these video's the ratio to use.

Hope this helps a bit.

Jan

works fine for me with MVP 16x9

What is your TV set to? 'stretch'? do you have other options you can try? I know I use 'fill' and i can't notice it but if I do select the stretch mode then it...well looks stretched.

@Rickgillyon
Did you ever get this issue resolved as I have the exact same situation?

FWIW I'm also using a PAL format MVP.

Cheers

Eric

No, no resolution, Sage Support tell me that's just the way it is. Not related to PAL, they expect the fonts to be stretched on 16:9.
