Installed 6.18 and lost my 5.1 audio

I had finally got the 5.1 audio feed to my sony receiver working using the audio steps in the How I stopped VMR9 stuttering (including 1080i) and solved all my sound issues thread.

Last night I upgraded to 6.18 and now I have lost my blue light which indicates the digital signal from the SP/DIF is being processed.
All Audio from Sage thru the receiver is stereo... except for what I play from the DVD player. (sigh)

Something got overwritten I guess... but I can't begin to imagine what.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Thanks

Reinstall AC3Filter, SageTV always registers its own (woefully out of date) version so you have to go through this step every time you upgrade.

Or just copy AC3Filter.ax from your AC3 folder to your SageTV folder. A full reinstall of AC3Filter isn't necessary if you have a current version already installed to its own folder.

Thanks, this explains why the audio quality (and volume) went down after installing 6.18.

reinstalling AC3Filter Worked for me enabling 5.1 but an additional step was required

I reinstalled the AC3 Filter and played back with AC3Filter as audio decoder but no dice, just stereo (albeit via SPDIF). What I had to do was rerun the ac3 config and reselect dolby DTS output as the reinstall seemed to have reset this to stereo out. After that 5.1 surround recordsing work perfectly and standard analog audio works as well.
