Need Help with SageTV in FSE with Nvidia graphics card
I am looking for some advice in configuring my SageTV setup. I have a desktop pc with a 19” LCD monitor in my kitchen that runs SageTV. This PC has a 6600GT Nvidia graphics card with 93.81 forceware drivers outputting an S-Video signal to my older 36” 4:3 CRT TV in my living room (I know S-Video is not ideal – however its my only option until I replace the TV). I am having trouble configuring the multiple monitor settings in nView. I have read on these forums that I should use Dual View with the TV as the primary device so I can enable FSE. My problem with this is the only time I want the TV to be the primary monitor is when I am watching SageTV and I don’t want any other applications displaying on the TV (really the only application that I want outputted to the primary monitor is SageTV). Once I make the TV my primary monitor I have no means in the living room to use the mouse to switch the display mode to make the PC monitor the primary monitor. Is there a keyboard sequence that can be used to make the switch? I am currently using clone mode and enabling video on both devices and this has been working OK – but I don’t think it is the best setup.
I would appreciate anyone’s help in configuring the multiple display settings. If anyone has a link to a tutorial or any other site that would help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Dan |

Why are you using FSE? Do you need to use that for smooth playback of HD files or something? I didn't need to use it till I went to a HD tv.
I think you can setup the Nvidia desktop manager to force windows to open up on certain desktops. You can make you second desktop the primary monitor (so you can use FSE) and then just drag the start menu to the other monitor. You can also try a third party app like ultramon or something if the Nvidia software doesn't give you enough options. flips |
