SageTV Service not working?

I want to run SageTV's service application, and am able to ENABLE it, but when I go to start it, I get an error stating that says: (Forgive me for not writing it down....) "....failed to start....in a timely manor."

What is this? and how do I fix it? it WAS on and working, until I turned it off (as well as SageTV) to copy my remote control commands to the SAGE.PROPERTIES file, and enter in my activation key.

When all was well, everything was running SMOOOTHHHH, I went to turn it back on, this error popped up.

I did a search, but found nothing under SAGETV service, I'm reading the manual, but hopefully someone can chime in before I spend my entire work day reading the SageTV PDF!

Thanks.

Enable debug logging to find out why the service isn't starting.

OK, I'm not all that familiar with all this stuff, but does it make a difference WHERE I put the debug logging code in the properties file? I notice that everything there is in alphabetical order.

You should have seen me last night trying to figure out the command line code "REGISTER" and that whole procedure to activate SAGETV with my upgrade licence! It took me over an hour!

No, it doesn't matter where you put it in the file. Just make sure you don't have a debug_logging property in there already before adding a new one.

Did you have Sage open on the server when you tried to start the service?
