I'm ready to Upgrade ... just a few ?s

Hello All,

I just downloaded the new Ver 6.1 to my laptop!!
Everything looks good as best as I can see... I just love the Online menu option for Google and YouTube.
My Hauppauge 350 card is still in my desktop so I could not view any realtime TV (Ver 5 is working just fine ... don't want to mess up a good thing just yet).

My Questions
1) The previous Version allowed the media extender and the placeshfter application to share the license ... how is this working now? I see they are now separate ... How will I use the current license I have ...extender or placeshifter or both


2) Since I am only using my laptop for testing(No installed PVR card) ... Is it possible to configure the server(laptop) and/or extender to playback the Google/Youtube online videos. Currently I can play no audio nor any video ... I can only view pictures on the extender?

Extender / Place shifter are still the exact same license. Furthermore, the licenses bind to the server and not the clients, so you can use one license with 5 extenders, so long as only 1 of them is on at a time.

Also, there was no upgrade fee for 5.1 -> 6.0 extender/placeshifter licenses. so your ver.5 will work fine.

Extenders can do everything the main sage software can, video, tv, pictures, google video, etc. The only limitation I have seen has been the minor "web radio" plugin that will not work.

As luck would have it my original Sage purchase was Ver2.2 or something like that back in Sep '05. I am excited about the the new OnLine features Google and YouTube video


I still can't get the OnLine videos to work nor any audio with the extender

I'm still trying ..............
