will not play home dvds from network storage

IF I do not enable/run sagetvservicecontrol.exe I can play
my home movies/mp3/pictures from my network storage.
Network storage computer has full sharing and I have mapped
it on sagetv server computer.
Here is what it looks like in properties:
seeker/archive_directory=\\\\AMD2700\\Media\\Video,1;\\\\AMD2700\\Media\\Music,2;\\\\AMD2700\\Media\\Pictures,4;

Works great until I turn on sagetvservicecontrol.exe
Then sagetv or mediamvp or TV client on another computer
gives me the following message:

There was an error playing Steve&Win:
ERROR (-2): Files selected for playback are no longer on disk

I am running 6.1.8.0
HELP!
Thanks,
Ray

If you're running the service, you need it to be run as a user (not the default LocalSystem) to access network resources.

I have NEVER ran users on any of my winxp
So I install/run winxp as admin, never login/change users
looking under:
documents & settings
Admin
all users
default user
local service
Ray

my desktop is under "Ray"

Please explain!!!!

Thanks,
Ray

FInd the Service for Sage TV... And go to the "Log On" tab, to access network drives the Sage service can not be set to "Local System account"... this is a special system ID. Just pick "This account" and enter either.. "Admin or Ray" and the password... It should work once you do that.

So to use network folders/drives for imported media.
the solution comes down to:
when customer runs SageTV Service Control he must "Change User"
to a user (current or otherwise) with a user with password
IE: Run Service As User: .\xxxxxx
NOT: LocalSystem(Default)
That is simple enough!
Thanks,
Ray

Yep you are correct!... It's not just Sage either.. It's any service which requires Network access.
