SageTV and Zoomplayer

Has anyone experienced any problems running sagetv and zoomplayer. I use zoomplayer to watch divx or xvid encoded movies from my harddrive and use a combination of filters for rendering the video stream, generally, ffdshow or the like. I have found that every time I reboot my machine I get an error message from SageTV when I try to watch livetv. Something like there was an error with the MPEG-2 video setup.

I can workaround this by uninstalling the PVR-250 and reinstalling it via the device manager in XP. But I have to do this every time I reboot. Anyone have any suggestions?

Are they fighting for the overlay?

I have no idea...I'm not running them at the same time so I wouldn't think so. My first thought is that the video filters/decoders set for zoomplayer are somehow messing with the decoders that sage uses

Check to see if you are using Overlay or VMR in Sage. Also check to see if ffdshow is being loaded with Sage.

I am using VMR but how do I check if FFDSHOW is being loaded?

If it is installed and configured to support raw video, then it is may be getting loaded.

Set ffdshow to show in teh taskbar. Then you can see if it pops up.

ok no ffdshow running when I start sagetv.

I incorrectly reported the original error, the message I get is:

There was a problem utilizing the capture card
Be sure it is installed correctly and no other applications are using it.
Failed running the graph for encoding
ErrCode=0x8007001f

It definately sounds like you are having something else is using the capture drivers. Make sure you don't have any other apps loading automatically.
