Recording problem
I recently started using SageTV and think it is great except for one problem. I have two PVR-250 (freestyle OEM) using the latest driver on XP. Occasionally the recorded file will be broken into two parts, and sometimes the file that was recorded will not play all the way using a viewer (myHTPC) other that Sage. The files that are broken will play back in Sage. It seems to happen mostly when 2 shows are recording simultaneously, and with programs that are set as favorites. I am not using FAT partitions as has been suggested in the forums as a potential problem. Any ideas what may be the problem? Thanks for your help!

I don't have an answer, but wanted to add my curiosity to this as well . I have never seen recordings broken into multiple files unless something causes SageTV to restart. Can someone explain why this happens to some people?

In case anyone has the same problem I want to let you know about how I got it working. I changed the recording quality from DVD to Best and I havent had a problem in a few days. It is kinda odd that that would fix it, seeing as there is only a small difference in the bitrate and my HD is pretty fast. But it works and I am able to watch shows using players other than sageclient.

Perhaps the DVD qualities are designed for use with a DVD player (after bing burned on a DVD-R) and from what I remember VOB's on a DVD do have a limited size and are chunked.

That would make sense, but why would it work sometimes though?
