Controlling DV Camcorder
I have a camcorder that I plug into my PC using a firewire cable. If I want to play tapes e.g. if family is over, I either have to hook the camcorder directly into the TV, or fire up Adobe Premiere Elements and play it through there.
I recently bought a case that came with Soundgraph media software. One of the features that it is supposed to have (I haven't installed it to see), is the ability to control a camcorder over a DV link. Is there some way that I can do this from within SageTV? I'd like to be able to just hook the camcorder to the HTPC with a firewire cable and then play tapes through the SageTV UI. Ideally, the HTPC remote would control playback, but I can use the camcorder remote if necessary. Can I maybe assign the DV link as a capture device and assign it a channel? Any other ideas?
