HD broadcast on a Standard TV??
I am interested in watching over-the-air HD broadcast on my standard (non-HD) TV. My TV is connected to the SageTV computer via an S-Video cable and I have the resolution set to 1024X768. The picture is fine and I can play back Imported videos that are 1920x1080. The video card simply scales down to use the available resolution. I'm wondering if I would be able to watch HD shows on my standard TV. Of course I would have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, since it's not a 16:9. Has anyone tried this setup? What were the results? Thanks!

Yeah, this works just fine. I record mostly off-air HD for 2 HD clients, but stream the same content to an SD client as well. I output via S-vid to the SD tube (Sony 27") and let the video card scale it. Looks very good, superior to analog cable, that's for sure. You can't adjust the AR of the content, though, and since it's 16:9, you will have bars on the top and bottom of the picture on a 4:3 set.
