Any difference in HDTV reception across the various HDTV OTA cards?
I figure there must be some hardcore HTPC people here who have purchased many of the various OTA HDTV cards. I'm wondering if there is any difference in the amount of reception one gets across the diffferent cards. I have an old Fusion 3 Gold that barely gets any reception in my new apartment (although my new Samsung DLP gets them all with almost no problem). I'm curious if I would I pick up all the channels I'm missing if I got a Fusion 5 Gold or Hauppage 1600?

I am not sure about the hauppauge 1600, but I get decent reception with my fusion5 Lite. It seems the concensus (other than the HDHomerun) are the Vbox cards as the perferred OTA HD card. If the HDHomerun wasn't released, I would probably be picking up a Vbox card myself (but the QAM capabilities sold me). I don't know if anyone has actually done a comparison of which is the best card(except some testimonials from those who have to different ones).

I recently installed a VBox DTA-150 and am very pleased with it. I live 35 -50 miles from the tv towers and get better reception with the VBox than my Syntax Olevia 542i. The toughest thing I had to do was learn how to properly remap channels in Sage.

I bought an antenna because it looks better though. It does get really good reception, very impressed.

I have tried an Avermedia A-180, Pinaccle USB tuner, and a Hauppage HVR-900. I have found that the Avermedia couldn't tune into most channels but the pinnacle and Hauppage work great. They can tune into most (around 8) of the local channels (around 35 miles away). So far I haven't noticed many problems, during bad weather I have some problems. But so far I am happy.
