HDTV OTA Help?

I recently added an ADSTech Instant HDTV pci to my htpc. Installation went smooth, and Sage sees the card with no problems. I set it up as an antenna connection, gave the zip code and it was able to access channel information. However, it is unable to get a signal on any of the local hd channels.

I have a low profile terk hd indoor antenna that I was using for the ota signal. It was connected to my tv before this and I was able to pull in 90% signals on all stations but 2.

The antenna is in the exact same location.

To test things further, I installed a trial copy of Beyond TV, and with the antenna in the exact same position, BTV is able to get the same channels as I was while the antenna was connected to the tv, at about a 90-92% signal strength.

The only thing I can think of is the fact that the card is not among those supported by Sage. Can someone verify this, or offer other suggestions?

I really do prefer to stay with Sage, so it's pretty important to me to be able to record the ota hd signal.

Thanks,

Phil

I'm using two of the ADS cards, but I have a really good professionally installed outside antenna on my house. My HD PC is in my basement I tried a few indoor antennas, but none of them could pick up any TV signals. My current signal strenght is around 88% - 90% using the outside one. If I get a chance while I'm upgrading my HDD's over the weekend I'll install Beyond TV again and see what the signal strenght is. As I recall there wasn't much difference. Are you using the BeyondTV that comes with the cards (stripped down version), or the one you download from the site? I was playing with the latter one.

PS
I was using a ATI HD card and I believe the signal str was also about the same. However, since I was resolving a different driver issue every other day with this card it's hard to say.

I'm using the BTV from the site. I have a license for both. I really would prefer to stay with Sage. I'm trying a different indoor antenna tonight, and if that doesn't work, I may switch to an outdoor, but as I mentioned, the antenna works fine with BTV.

Thanks for the post. I'll be curious to hear how your test comes out.

Phil

Version 5.04. I did try a scan, which didn't work. I will try it again though. I changed indoor antennas, but same result. Card is found and channels come in on BTV, but Sage can't find any channels.

I had a similar problem with my OTA tuner. For kicks, I removed my properties file, and then I was able to get it to tune in everything.

I would try removing the file and seeing if you have success setting up the card in sageTV
