Jump To X feature

GB-PVR has a "jump" feature that lets you type in a number before pressing the "skip fwd" button, and it will jump fwd the number of minutes entered.

EX: #5, Skip Fwd: Will skip fwd 5 minutes.

Does SageTV / SageMCE have anything like this?

Is there an easier way to get to the middle of a 3 hour movie than using the skip2 button?

Thanks,
Dan

There is a Time Scroll command that allows you to use Left/Right/FF/REW to move the playback position in large increments without actually seeking the video until you press Time Scroll again:eg

Time Scroll
Hold FF (until you reach desired position)
Time Scroll.

I think it's unbelievable that this feature doesn't already exist! It must surely be very useful to a lot of people?

Excellent! I'll try it tonight. Should it work okay with 6.1.3? I notice from the thread that it was last updated for 6.0.15.

Steve.

I haven't tried it with 6.1.3 but in theory it should work. If it doesn't let me know and I will fix it.

I'll try it too. This is the feature I miss most from GB-PVR.

Yeah, I've used the Time Scroll, and it has its place, but there are certain situations where I know exactly how far I want to go, and the GB-PVR implementation would be ideal...

As there doesn't appear to be any key-combo's that utilize this feature in SageTV or MCE, it'd be nice if they would add it...

I'll give the mediaplayer plugin a go.

I think you'll find the Media Player Time Jump plugin to work much the same way you're used to.

I missed this same feature from my ReplayTV days. I used it constantly on the ReplayTV's and wanted the same ability with SageTV.

BobPhoenix heard my plea and put it together in a jiffy. Not only can you use it to FF/RW 'x' minutes you can also use it to go to 'x' minutes into the show.

Thanks again Bob! You are my SageTV hero!
