Angry my EPG is toasted, please help?

i've had sage running for a few months with no epg problems. but now my epg shows "bad airing" in every channel and timeslot and all of my recordings show as "invalid airing" i tried the epg refresh techniques suggested here with no luck. my internet connection is solid. i have reinstalled sage and java. i live in houston and use time warner cable which is supported by zap to it.

attaching my properties file in case that helps...

can somebody help?

i've seen that too, but only with one show so far. i'm pretty sure the show was recorded normally w/ epg data, but at a later date it somehow got corrupted.

it's all of my recordings. and 95% of the epg--i have a few channels reporting correctly, but only in a few time slots.

i have tried a clean install, and all sorts of techniques to force an epg update.

Post your setup information and maybe we can get someone to try it to verify that it is an EPG provider problem. I have not done it for awhile, Zip, Cable provider etc. information.

Since nobody else has mentioned this, all of the "\u0000"s at the beginning of the file are a little suspicious. Those definitely aren't supposed to be there, at least I've never seen them or that many of them.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? I was running the trial just fine. Then I purchased the actual product, and everything says "bad airing". This is a real bummer...

Can't get my client to work either, but that is a different subject. One problem at a time.

I do like my sage, but that may only go so far...

When did the change to "bad airing" information happen? Is it happening for everyday, or with just a few channels. When did you first notice it?

I first noticed it when I purchased the sageTV and entered the key code. That doesn't mean that it couldn't have been happening the couple of days before that as I wasn't able to devote much time to using it.

Every day. I would say that 80-90% of the guide's info says "bad airing" but there are some things that have normal info populated. I have done the "change a channel in the preferences" thing to get the guide to update, but that had no effect.

Thanks,
Chris

Now I've got it too (12/16/03 2:45). Everything in the "Live
TV" Guide is "Bad Airing" except the stuff that's No Data after about 12/30. All my recorded shows are "INVALID AIRING" also.

It happened sometime in the past hour I'd say. I watched a show over lunch (about 1:00) and all was fine. I played with the properties file so the library would import VOBs, and attempted to connect with a SageClient trial from my laptop. I didn't really check the guide in there so I can't say exactly when it happened.

Anybody got any ideas?

I just deleted my souce and re-added it. Everything looked good, my channel lineup showed up and all but now everthing in the guide says "NO DATA" except for a few things that were marked as "Don't Like" those still say "Bad Airing"

Anyway off to delete the Sage dir and reinstall.

Well I nuked the SageTV dir and reinstalled and the guide is now properly populated. Just to try, I put the new wiz.* and sage.pro* in a safe place and restored the old one I saved and lo and behold...... everything was hosed again.

Anyway I'm trying to attach the bad wiz.*, hopefully they'll help.

Guess the forum didn't want to take a 3Mb file, not a surprise really. Oh well, I was looking for a reason to re-format my drive to 64k clusters.

This happened to me once a long time ago. Same resolution on my part. Hold on to those old wiz.x files. We need to make sure Jeff gets them. This is a pretty major bug that is hard to detect.

Yeah, I filled out a support request to make sure there's a record of this. I plan to get at least the bad wiz.* to him somehow.

On the up side the EPG is much faster now. Previously when I went into the Recording Schedule and marked something as Watched or Don't Like it would take 30s-1m for the show to dissapear, now it goes away instantly.
