The system clock or SageTV clock would have only change time today under the old rules, DST option checked or not -- meaning they're running pre-2006 versions of their DST software and need to update.

If today's OP is based in the US and has the correct DST software running (OS-updates and Java-updates) then their clock wouldn't have changed time 'this week'. US Daylight Saving Time Ends Nov. 4th

EDIT: Here are all the OS and Application links PULLED FORWARD:

Sun's Explanation here

Lazy people can CHECK THEIR JAVA VERSION HERE via their web browser.

Most recent version of Jave Runtime Environment

For those who LIKE running the older versions, SUN probably has a single incident update that corrects for the new DST time-change rules but leaves everything else intact. (In the list, look for 'Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE)' and find your version).

Well, this is unbelievable, but my sagetv server is now an hour ahead of the windows clock (windows is correct)....I've been running jre1.6 for ages, but I updated to latest anyway and rebooted and it's still wrong.

My sagetv client is correct which doesn't make any sense to me.

this DST change is a total mess.

HELP!

EDIT: and now after installing the DST patch from MS (which I had already done when this began months ago), both my clocks are now wrong!

Ben

ben_95sl1,

Control Panel: in 'Date & Time'
In (Time Zone) tab verify your time zone and DST auto adjustment box is enabled.
Then in (Internet Time) tab choose UPDATE NOW. This may fail. Check in the pull-down if you have other timekeepers. Your system clock (and Java Clock) won't reset until this is successful.

If that doesn't change anything, then you might want to try a variation of this:

downloaded and ran: http://www.intelliadmin.com/DaylightSavingFix.exe
next opened SageTV and it was an hour behind, so I disabled Synchronize with system clock, and closed sage.
then I opened SageTV and the time was right, and then I was able to enable the Synchronize again. Everything was fixed.

Hope this helps,

DST Computer Sage correct, mvp client(s) wrong

My computer time is correct and the sage server running on the computer is correct time. However, both my MVP clients have already changed time. They are an hour behind.

I have the latest Java. I just checked it online.

thx,
vern

It GOT FIXED. I unplugged all MVPs and turned off the server. I then restarted the server, checked the time there. It was O.K. Then plugged in the MVPs. All is well. I guess the MVPs were keeping in memory the old ver of Java in their build. They then used that old ver to do the DST time change making them 1 hour off from the server. Turning the MVPs physically off made them rebuild their software.

thx,
vern

ok, I fixed it....I think. Thanks for all the suggestions. I believe it actually had something to do with the time syncing program I was running, and one of the servers was off by a mile, or at least that's what it reported. Anyway, I turned the syncing program off, and it was fine overnight, re-enabled the syncing this afternoon and it's staying on the right time.

Okay getting sick of this time being off stuff. I missed all my shows for the past few days.. very annoying. I updated the java, I downloaded all patches.. still having one hour off, and have to fix it by adjusting the clock in windows. Then my client in the bedroom with everything updated is about 6 hours off in sage, though the windows is fine.
What give?

Try shutting everything down. The Server, the Clients, the MVPs... Maybe give it a good 15 minutes (I agree you shouldn't have to do this but nothing else seems to be working, so...).

Power up the server first. Re-enable the DST in Windows. Check the time, reupdate with time.windows.com if necessary.
Start the SageTV server. Check the time in Sage.
Start your client.

Report back.

This method worked for me. Restarting the server was the key.
