same here
the sage support info of "Just make sure that you clock settings in systray have the daylight savings tab checked and that's all you need to do. " is not correct. I am running the default java install from 2 or 3 years ago of 1.4.2_05 and the time is 1 hour off. I'm updating java to Java 5.0 Update 11 now. I hope this does not kill my Sage setup which has been stable for about 2 years.

Same here, running Java 6.0 (which according to the Sun website already contains the US2007DST changes) on server and client, and SageTV is one hour ahead this morning.
EDIT: I just noticed that I had automatic Windows updates disabled on my SageTV server, so the MS Windows patch was not installed. After a manual Windows update and reboot the time is now correct. So all of you who are hitting this issue, make sure that you have both Java and Windows updated. Dirk Last edited by dflachbart; 03-11-2007 at 08:27 AM. |

Ok I fixed the problem with the one hour ahead here is what I did:
downloaded and ran: http://www.intelliadmin.com/DaylightSavingFix.exe next opened SageTV and it was an hour behind, so I disabled Synchronize with system clock, and closed sage. then I opened SageTV and the time was right, and then I was able to enable the Synchronize again. Everything was fixed. Hope this helps, Armyb77 |

My system clock is correct, but my SageTV is still an hour behind. I've tried the things others have suggested, no effect.
Help! I'm running SageTV 4.1

My Symptoms
I installed the Microsoft Patch long before yesterday.
Now, my system clock is correct - yet Sage's clock reads 1 hour behind. However, the listings are also one hour behind. So there's no net effect. SageTV likely won't continue to keep the clock and listings 1 hour behind the system. What's causing this? My Java version is 1.5.0_04-b05. Here's the important question: What's going to happen when Sage decides to suddenly shift the clock forward? Will the program guide times shift, also? |

My sage server is also reporting time to be one hour behind the system clock, regardless of how many reboots and restarts I do. All my recordings this morning are hosed. Gotta get this figured out before BSG tonight!
My server has the DST microsoft patch, and I'm running Java 6. It did NOT update correctly this morning for some reason. I've verified the windows patch is installed. If I set Windows to synch to internet time it keeps changing the clock back one hour, so I suspect Windows is for some reason not applying the offset correctly. I may have changed the time forward, but Windows is still saying I should be 1 hour different. Any suggestions? UPDATE: Okay, I just rolled to Jave 5 update 10 and things seem to be working right. Fingers crossed for BSG. Last edited by kevpriest; 03-11-2007 at 10:00 AM. |

DST problem fixed
I did not realize that I had MS Automatic Updates turned off on my server.
I ran the updates which included the DST patch. Sage EPG clock time is now fixed. |

I joined the ranks of those with the SageTV's clock being off by an hour this morning. Before DST started I saw that the scheduled recordings were off by an hour so a show that should be from 9-10 was listed as 8-9. So I was expecting trouble.
By looking at the running programs, I determined that SageTV was using windows\system32\java.exe So, I opened a command prompt at that location and executed "java -version" and was shown 1.4.2... I then exited SageTV and downloaded and installed the current version of Java from http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp I then checked the version of Java and this time it was 1.5.0_11-b03 I fired up SageTV and everything is back to normal. Now hopefully the new version of Java won't mess anything up, so I don't have to dig through the debates about the best version of Java to use. I am curious that even though this thread is sticky, I don't really see much in the way of an official response. TiVo on the other hand, sent me both an email and an onscreen message detailing what to expect. |

DirecTV still has not adjusted their time so I will have to sync with them until they make the correction.
EDIT: Let me clarify that DirecTV time is correct, however mt DirecTivo time is still an hour behind. Also mt Sage guide is an hour ahead and I cannot get Sage set to the correct time. Last edited by clayfree; 03-11-2007 at 10:26 AM. |

SAGETV did a p*ss poor job of handling this DST change
Windows2K and Java were updated weeks ago (Java 1.5.0.11) ... windows clocks were just fine at the changeover.
I ran TZUpdater ... no joy I ran daylightsavingfix.exe ... fixed the clock in the upper right hand corner of each SageTV menu, but when i enabled "sync system clock" the program guide was off by an hour. My partial solution ... use daylightsavingfix.exe and do NOT enable sync ... and hope that the SageTV folks wake up and get us a real fix within the next 3 weeks. This is NOT a way to keep customers happy. |

I thought I had things working right, but alas, it's not so. I changed to the Java 5 update 10, and now Sage keeps changing my clock back an hour! Everytime I start or stop Sage it changes the system time. What now?
UPDATE (AGAIN): Well, I'm not sure, but it appears that my Server time had gone back an hour for some reason, which was causing all the Clients to reset the clock everytime I started and stopped. I've reset the server time and it seems to be sticking, so hopefully the clients will stick. I can't believe how goofy all this has been. Thanks, congress. Instead of being outside on a nice day, I'm "saving" my daylight by sitting inside trying to figure this stupid stuff out. Last edited by kevpriest; 03-11-2007 at 10:29 AM. |

Previously I was using whatever version of Java that comes with Sage, so it was an old version. |
