Is it possible to put an imported video in the SageTV Recordings list?

Due to a recording schedule conflict, I've missed a recent episode of a series I've been recording. Unfortunately, I'm way behind in watching this series, but I don't want to miss this episode when I get to it. I know I can put it in my imported videos, but what i really want is to have it show up in the list of SageTV Recordings in the correct order so I can keep them all together. Is this possible? If I get the episode number, title, description, etc, is is possible to somehow "import" this episode in a way that SageTV sees it as a regular sageTV recording?

You should be able to do that with the Web Server.

Or if you can wait about a month and the episode has an entry in your database (if you can find it with a search) you will be able to associate your imported video to that airing with my VideoEdit plugin.

The first thing to do would be to look back through your Program Guide and see if the EPG info is still there for that episode. If so, mark it Watched (even though you haven't actually watched it) to keep it from being deleted while you research a solution.

If it's already reverted to "No Data", then you'll have to re-input the episode info from some other source.

Thanks, BobPhoenix. i copied the file over and was indeed able to edit it with the web server. Everything worked great...until I tried to Unarchive the show. I'm not sure why, but as soon as I did this, the file disappeared from the system. I thought maybe I screwed something up, so I did it again, this time unchecking the archive flag in SageTV intead of the web server. same deal, as soon as I do this, Sage deletes the file.

Anyone know what's going on, and if it's possible to import a new video, add the show info, AND unarchive it so it shows up in the list of sageTV recordings with the rest of the episodes? So close....

Normally what you are doing is fine (and works for me)... You say that Sage actually deletes the file *from disk* (not just from it's DB)? the Unarchive function normally sets manual recording state precisely to avoid just that!

If you have also removed manual recording state, then perhaps the favorite has a keep at most setting? Perhaps that disk is over is allocated recordings space?

If it is not deleted from disk, but just not showing up in the recordings list, check the filter settings to see if you are filtering out manual recordings.

It does actually delete it from disk, not just the database. Actually it appears to keep it in the db after it deletes it, because I can now find multiple entries for this show when searching through past airings; these entries contain the information I added.

There are no "keep at most" flags on the favorite settings, and all available space is allocated to recordings. Is it possible that my setting the episode ID manually instead of letting the webserver do it could have something to do with it? Also, perhaps it has something to do with the recording length? It is now 42 minutes after removing commercials so the air time shows up as 9:00PM - 9:42PM rather than the original 9:00PM - 10:00PM. Don't mean to confuse the issue, but I'm just not getting why this is happening. Do I need to set any "watched" or other flags?

This could be it... I guess you are using an older version of the webserver, because I removed that feature because it was broken, leading to the file getting deleted... (sage probably only notices that the file is deleted later). Try letting the webserver generate an EPGID...

I'm using V2.8 of the webserver. (Great addition to Sage, many thanks btw) I've tried getting the latest version, but keep getting the following error when trying to access the page:

Trac detected an internal error:
database is locked

I'll keep trying, maybe I'll be able to get to it eventually.

Regarding the episode ID, will the webserver give it an ID that matches the rest of the series, or something completely new? Maybe it doesn't matter, but I was trying to set the ID based on the IDs from previous recordings.

Also, if I now do a search for past EPG airings, I find six instances of the show i tried to import, all of which are not linked to any file (because Sage/the web server deleted the files). Is there any way to remove these?
