mpeg to DVD's

I 've had a quick look around at software out there, but was wondering what people use to convert mpeg files vobs with chapters etc, and then burn them off to dvd's so that they play in normal dvd players.

most of the trial versions I've looked at have limitations, so you can't fully test them out.

I don't mind spending a few shillings for something that does a good job

TIA

You are looking for an authoring program. Many TV cards, DVD Burners and newer computers come with the basic capability. Cyberlink PowerProducer, Sonic MyDVD, Ulead MovieFactory, etc... I upgraded the copy of MovieFactory that came with my Hauppauge card and am quite happy with it.

I'd seen it mensioned but thought it just copied mpegs onto DVD's in their standard mpeg format.

I can see I need to do some playing.

Maybe some reading would be a good idea too......

The DVD plugin creates VOBs, menus, a final .iso, etc.--it's actually pretty slick. My only complaint (and it's a minor issue) is that it slams the system resources while processing, but considering what it's doing, man, it's sweet!

Does it take HD recordings and make them anamorphic or does it letterbox them?
