HD Problems!!!!!!!

I had just got my Vbox-150 working (remove sage, then re-install), but now I have some different problems.

The sound is much lower on the HD channels than the SD channels. Suggestions?

Some of the HD channel's have EPG data, while others dont'.

What could that be?

A lot of the HD channel's seem to be repeats of each other. Do I have to manually go through each one and remove the duplicates?

In addition, I added the CW and FOX channels, which wasn't listed for some reason. CW added, but the FOX didn't.

Sage Allows you to remap, but doesn't allow you to insert to change the station id (frequency id). And there is no apparent way to remove that station from the listing, thus if the station is already listed, then you can never change the station id, or add a new listing for the station. How do I delete a channel lineup from the listing?

HD programming usually uses AC3 audio and AC3 is lower than your normal audio. You need to increase the gain on the audio to closer match your SD audio.

Install the latest version of AC3filter at www.ac3filter.net . Nyle posted a good setup in another thread.

1.) Download the latest AC3Filter from the official site.
2.) Install the AC3filter(The current version 111 will open a tray icon when it's in use for adjustments or you can use the offline configuration utility which is placed in a folder on the start menu under AC3filter.)
3.) Under Setup->Detailed Setup->Video/Adio select the Audio decoder for MPEG2 to be AC3filter.
4.) Now you would modify the AC3filters settings using the tray icon when something is playing or with the offline config.

5.)
a.)If you have 2 speakers turn off the Normalize Matrix option under Equalizer which may be enough. If not boost the gain a little as well.
b.)If you have multiple speakers, If you look under the different options there is a Master Gain - try raising this to your liking during playback.

You probably need to use the xmltv import and set that up to get all the guide data. I know I had to do that, Sage is not exactly smart when it comes to their built in guide.

Repeats, well I don't know where you live, perhaps you do get a lot of duplicates of the hd programs, perhaps the channels are setup incorrectly. But in any event you need to manually go in and delete or add channels. Personally I'd verify your channels using zap2it and setup the account, then switch to the xmltv plugin for your guide, then I'd add the channels.

Look in the epg forum for details as to how.

Another thing you can do for the audio diparity (if using an external receiver) is adjust your wave slider down so the output equals AC3. S/PDIF out of AC3 will not be affected.

Thanks, I'll try these suggestions tonight.

The XMLTV is a little confusing as of now. I've read that you can grab the zap2it channel lineup, and read that you would need to use an XMLGrabber. But I couldn't find a reference to where I can get the Grabber.

Another thing, how does the EPG update your channel lineup? Does it use the channel number or the station id?
