Anyone using an MP945-VXR ?

I saw the AOpen MP945-VXR at CES and thought it would make a lovely HD-Capable SageTV Client.

My one concern is the video output - the unit uses an on-card video 'card' (Intel D945GM OnDie).

Is anyone using one? Anyone have any opinions about this unit?

Andy.

This is basically the same hardware as the mac mini, and should perform about as well. Personally, I would wait6 another month or so for the new MP965-VXR, which has the upgraded integrated graphics from Intel in them. Supposedly is better for HD playback.

Also, given the price of the mac mini, why not buy one of those and install XP on it? It's cheaper than the Aopen barebones when you add all the parts together.

Thanks,
mike

Yeah, if you are going to pay a premium for a small computer like this, you should at least get the 965G version which has better graphics than the cheaper mac mini.

Thanks,
mike
