Question SageTV Media Center UltraHD

Found something at the CES site:
"SageTV Media Center UltraHD maximizes the HD viewing experience by making it possible to record and stream TV in High Definition throughout the home."

At the bottom of page:
http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awar...sp?category=85

Image of Device I have not seen, yet:
http://www.cesweb.org/shared_files/i...nphoto5034.jpg

Is this something coming as an extender?

while this certainly looks promising the pic looks more like a client type setup rather than a 'true' extender. That pic looks familiar too--maybe from when they were beta testing the mediaready last year (was that last year or 2 years ago)? Regardless, the fact they have the HD streaming part mentioned on the website is good enough for me to get my hopes up. good find

I also think it looks more like a client setup. I wonder if they decided to scrap the true extender, re-code, reverse engineer, and try to make a client that could be more flexible because it more a PC inside then the extenders would be.
PC based benefits:
More movie, music, picture, internet stream support.
I wonder if it Linux based to keep cost down.
DVD player built-in is great, no more ripping and trans-coding for an MVP type setup.
I guess all this can be done now with a PC client setup; I will just have to wait to see what they have to say next week.

The tile on your browser is 2007, they are honoring the technology from 2006; how could they honor 2007 technology if it has not been created yet? Not picking, just pointing out it is the 2007 pages.

Do you work for SAGE..., Are you trying to confuse me...

Could it not be the true picture, it is just what they gave CES for the news, but still good news for HD users. Lets hope.

Those are awards given out at last years CES. No neither of us work for Sage, but we remember the picture/info from last year. You'll notice SageTV 3 (which was new around last years CES) is listed there also.

Sage appears not to be attending 2007 CES, they're not on the exibitor list, nor has there been an announcement on the forum

Guess we'll probably know for sure in about a week.

-edit

Here's the list for 2007:

Oh, yes, those version jumps we have been going through, I forgot we are at 6 now. I guess it is old.

I remember someone from the sage team (jeff maybe) mentioning in the past few months that they would be at the Hauppauge booth again this year. Funny thing about the linked page is i remember the pic but not the term UltraHD...
Juc

edit: first you beat me to it--then i incorrectly attributed the info to jeff and not you andy.....thanks!

Has anyone with Sage stated that they are working on an MVP that will carry HD signals to any TV in the house (that can accept HD signals obviously)?

There was talk of one around last years CES, but nothing since. Maybe there will be good news next week.

At the top of the page I see the dates, 2007 January 8-11.

The Media extender has been out of stock for a while now. I was expecting something for that reason alone.

This is the site for the 2007 CES, but the page linked is for awards presented at last year's (2006) CES.

They've got for years all the way back to 2003:
http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awar...03honorees.asp
http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awar...04honorees.asp
http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awar...05honorees.asp
http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awar...06honorees.asp

Here's the page for this year's (2007) honorees:
http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awar...07honorees.asp

I haven't exhaustively searched, but SageTV isn't in the Home Networking category like last year.

I really, really hope they announce/release an HD extender at CES this year. But the page the OP posted is from last year and shouldn't/can't be used as an indication of what Sage is going to announce this year.

I recently bought 3 media extenders and paid over $300 for them with licenses. I'd gladly replace them in a heartbeat (well two of them anyway) for an HD media extender.

I think HD extenders would sell like hotcakes at $250-$300 each.
