HELP! large vob files truncated to 1hr 16 minutes

I prefer to rip to single large vob file to be used by sagetv
instead of multiple vob files for obvious reasons.
However using several dvds and rippers I find that sagetv
will only show/play 1 hour 16 minutes 57 seconds
the vob file is uncompressed for highet quality. About 7gb
(trying to make a video jukebox)
Anybody can verify it might be possible/suggest how to shorten button pushing to get to list of titles to play? video button on mediamvp?
add a jukebox button to menues?
Thanks,
Ray

I'm trying to understand the obvious reasons to rip to a single vob besides having just one file. If you rip to a standard DVD file structure the files all go in one place. You never have to do something with those files after the rip. It all goes in a folder with the name of the movie and Sage or the MVP can play them easily. All of my rips are done in the standard structure and they all play on both devices. Using either the default STV or SageMC you can have the DVD cover art show so all you do is select the cover and then select play. It already does the media jukebox.

when I goto:
Media Center
Browse Media Files
Play a Selected Media file
E:\
ripped dvd files
video_ts

I only see VOB files
If I rip everything then I see MANY vob files
I say to myself "which one (s) do I select to play????"
even if I rip only main movie I see at least 4 vob files.
That is like watching four different movies or
changing disc 4 times just for one movie

Am selecting movie files wrong?
Thank,
Ray

What version of Sage are you running?

When I go into imported videos, the movies just show up as a single item. You shouldn't have to browse for it unless E:\ is not in your import path.

Are you using FAT32 or NTSF to format your disks? There is a 4 GB file size limit for FAT32 which comes to about your times.

qplasky: I have tried many times to get my cover art to show for DVDs where exactly does the .jpg file go in the folder structure and what should it's filename be. I have tried every variation that I can think of.

folder.jpg goes into VIDEO_TS folder.

resolution is 96x96 dpi and 79x140 of one of the images. I use SageMC which will download the info from IMDB.

To clarify playing ripped dvds you should have:

pathtovideos\uniquemoviename\VIDEO_TS

If you have non unique names, they don't display correctly. I have run into this as my movies span several disks.

Thanks much! The problem was I ass-u-med that lowercase "folder" ment to substitute the name of the folder.

I have like 300 + DVDs stored on 7 disks (about 3.5 TBs) on multiple systems. I give thanks that they restored the folder view in 6. Now on to updating them all to get the cover art!

Can't figure out why volume level is so low.
Burned ripped to dvd and played on regular dvd player and
volume levels are normal.

But Sagetv playing ripped directory of movie I have to put
TV (mediamvp vob files) or computer (dvd and vob) up all the way and it is still low.
Is there an audio level adjust that is different from playing TV channels
on built in tuners?

Thanks,
Ray
