How can I turn off auto record?
I noticed that SageTV (v5) records every minute of TV I watch. I figured out how to auto-delete the incomplete file, but I don't want SageTV to record anything until I tell it to record something. I browsed the settings but couldn't figure out how to turn this off.

As you've found out, it's designed that way. The reason I like it better than a 30 minute buffer: If the TV is on and I come into the room and see the last 10 minutes of a show I want to see, and forgot to Favorite/Manual Record...I just hit Record or Rewind to the beginning. With a buffer you'd be SOL.

It is absolutely ridiculous that you can't turn off recording. What's sad, is that other apps are the same way. BeyondTv, etc.
Is there ANYTHING that will just let you watch TV, and record when you want? I'd love DScaler that can handle ATSC signals. I love the fact that timeshifting is a feature, but let people disable it. I just can't explain how ridiculous it is not to be able to turn it off. What are developers thinking? |

What difference does it make? When you stop watching the temp file is deleted anyways.

Oh, and FWIW, there's no way to support Clients, Placeshifters, or Extenders without writing something to disk. That would kinda cripple Sage. |

Not if you are using IR. In that case you'd have to wait for your hard drives running out of spce.
