Updated (bit of a hack) plugin for tv_grab_uk_rt

I started thinking about the uk_rt grabber and plugin after the Digiguide thread, and noticed that I wasn't getting actor or director data into the EPG.

I took a look at the plugin (took me a while to realise that for UK data you need the older plugin on the developer page, rather than the newer ones posted since) and had a bit of a hack around.

I've attached the result here in case anyone wants to give it a go. It's not an elegant or efficient addition, but it seems to work for me with the uk_rt grabber (although I've not tested it to destruction!) and now I have actor data in the EPG - which is good.

I also added back the newer rerun handling code which had been added by Lester, but didn't put in the multiple tuner support added by mikbro - which I probably will if I ever get 'round to adding another card.

The only thing left that I really want now is Categories. I don't think that the source data scraped from the Radio Times site actually contains this information tho, so I'm guessing I'm out of luck with that?

I will try out your version see how it works for me, Cheers

I am still trying to get the multi linup plugin to work thou, it is a mare, read somewhere it does not work for uk data, so thought i would try an fiddle it with another data, it has'nt worked so far...

If you know how to add multi lineup to the xmltv, i am sure a lot of UK Sager's would be most grateful.

Anyway, Thanks again

Just for your information ... installed your classes, and worked perfectly first time! Now got rich actor data as well as full prog descr.

Anyone in the UK who's not using it, I can highly recommend you use uk_rt (if you've got the time, bandwidth, etc) - and get MrManson's plugin. Top marks!

I'm still bit of a newbie - so forgive me with this!!

How do I install the plugin in this thread?

where do I place all these .java & .class files?

I really want to get more descriptive data do the plugin sounds cool.

Also - I have 2x Hauppauge PVR250's, will this effect things? I read something in the post about no multi support?!?!?!

Read the XMLTV how-to thread, and use this plugin instead of the one in the thread.

No multi support only means that this plugin does not support different channel line-ups for each card (eg if you have a satellite box on one tuner, and terrestrial analog on the other). there are no problems with supporting multiple identical line-ups.
