Question
Sorry if this was posted before but I can not seem to find it or find my answer anywhere.
I am looking to build a box in the next few weeks and was wondering, can I just build a server with about 4 turner cards (for multiple TVs) and then network clients from my actual computer to watch live TV with the ability to pause through the server or does it only show you recorded info? Does the Client function like the server as in the interface and such? I am still unclear on how that works. Thanks! |

You can put as many encoders in a server as the machine will support. Usually PCI or USB slots arethe only parts limiting you. Don't forget they must be cards that SageTV supports.
The Client can access just about everything the server can including LiveTV off of any of the tuners. Many people build a server and put it off in a closet somewhere and use a smaller quieter PC connected to their TV. You can also put encoders in those other client PC's and have them controlled and maintained by the SageTV server as well. |

Cool thanks for the into.
Also I was wondering if SageTV supports digital sound and if anyone had any recommendations on what sound card to use. Also any ideas on what video card to use. Thanks! |
