UI/Menus with Nvidia full screen video to TV?

Why does the setup menu only enable UI and menus for the PVR 350? Is there a way to show them when outputting fullscreen video to Nvidia TV out?

I've set my Nvidia 7600GS to output fullscreen video both to the TV (connected via composite) and the SageTV application window, but the UI and menus don't appear on the TV.

I have a PVR 350 and tried doing it that way, but that causes problems:
- The sound gets out of sync
- The video playback periodically stops - black video - but the time keeps advancing
- "Toggle full screen" on my computer monitor no longer goes full screen (Samsung 21" at 1600x1200) The SageTV window just stays at 640x480

Thanks
- Ty

That is what that setting meant to do: display only the rendererd video fuill screen on the TV, so don't enable that setting

Just configure your TV as a display device (either a clone of the primary monitor, or as a separate monitor), and then run Sage. You may get better performance in certain display modes if the TV is the primary monitor.

Thanks for the reply. Leaving Nvidia fullscreen video display off, with multiple monitors set to clone, does let me see the menus on the TV.

Unfortunately, that gives me resolution issues. When I toggle fullscreen on, the image is too big to fit on the TV. Is there any way to adjust that?

Thanks

Nvidia's TV-out only supports certain resolutions (640x480; 800x600, and a few HDTV res like 1024x720 when set using the advanced resolutions/refresh rates screen) Others are handled by panning/scanning a viewport...

So either set a res that the TV-out supports withe full screen;
Or set the TV as a second monitor, and do not use clone mode.

Clone w viewport lock

Thanks so much! Hadn't occured to me to change resolution on the TV. It works great. I found I can use it in clone mode with the SageTV window, which is set to 640x480, and is placed at upper left of my monitor. I set the nvidia tv output set to lock the viewport, so it won't scroll with the mouse.

I'll try it with clone off and fullscreen, too. Thanks again
