Question Lost access to S-Video with Nat. EPG, How do I restore?

When I was using a plug-in to get the EPG data I saw a dummy entries in 2 hour blocks for S-video (channel 1) which let me view and record from the S-video with the WinTV-PVR-350. Now with the National EPG I have lost this data and cannot find a way to restore it. When I go into the Setup Wizard it shows 2 Sources:
Source #1: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture S-Video
Source #2: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture TV Tuner

But when I select Add or Modify a Source it only shows a sigle entry "Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture" which leads me back to the broadcast channels. S-video is private input. How do I get back the dummy entries to let me view and record S-Video?

If I go into Channel Setup it shows both input Sources. When I select the Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture S-Video, it is empty. I think this may be the problem I expected to see channel 1 there.

Are you using multiple sources with one card or multiple cards?

Also, are you using an IR blaster to control an external cable/sat box? I'm a little confused with what you are trying to do.

I have one Card, which worked fine as late as yesterday morning. That is why I believe it is related to the switch from using the plug-in to the national EPG.

What I am doing with the S-Video is moving programs from my VCR's and DVD recorder to my computer. The primary point is that currently the S-video input on the 350 card is useless. I even tried remapping one of the leased channels to channel 1, but it looks like it tried to use the tuner channel 1 instead of the S-Video. Using channel 1 for S-video was something I started with from the original Hauppauge software. Is there a better way to view the S-Video from SageTV? Can you input from S-Video on a 350 Card?

Sounds like you want to add a second source to that card in Sage and specify the svideo input.

YEs and thats what I think I have. The problem is that there are no channels for the S-video card and I don't see any way to add them. As my original post stated I have 2 sources but no channels are showing for the S-video.

How do I get some channels into the S-video source with out changing my Tuner channels or EPG data.

I (SageTV will be recording almost constantly) don't have a open block of time to bring SageTV down until tomorror morning, but I think I have three possible work arounds.

1. Stop using S-video and input thru channel 3 or 4. This requires a physical change of cables.

2. Shut down SageTV and use Sage recorder ( which is better suited for this purpose) to input. This really limits the usefullness of SageTV to be shutdown to do something that should be build in.

3. Go back to using the plug-in data. However I am very confused at this point about what was generating the dummy data for the S-video channel. I assumed it was SageTV since it was not in the EPG data file. It now looks like the plug-in code may have been generating this data.

Why not just use the S-video as a second source and then map a dummy channel from any of the channel lineups. Just make sure it's the only channel selected, maybe a PPV channel or something. Then just map your recordings through that dummy channel.

Problem has been corrected. I convinced myself that the basic problem was that there was no channel information (where it went is unknown) for the S-video channel. I then removed that source input and reinstalled it and I now have access to the S-video restored.

Thank you for the information.
